The new-construction duplex was built for a multi-generational family in a dense residential neighborhood of Tokyo. Two separate homes are anchored by a shared foyer and central courtyard, strategically placed to bring abundant sunlight into each home while creating a garden secluded from the surrounding buildings and streets. Thoughtful organization of spaces provides privacy for each family while fostering a sense of community and a quiet dialogue with nature in the heart of the city.
