Designed as an open-air pavilion, the annex seamlessly connects to the patio and garden. The surrounding yard, once overrun with bamboo, underwent a complete transformation into a thriving native garden. Extensive soil amendments helped mitigate water run-off and improved irrigation.

A 4' grid was implemented throughout the structure, optimizing efficiency by aligning with standard plywood panel dimensions and multi-slide door sizes. Natural and non-toxic materials and finishes were used, minimizing ecological impact.
